A dry red wine from France, made with Syrah and Grenache from the 2021 vintage. A quick word on the grape: Syrah is a bold red grape producing dark, full-bodied wines with blackberry, black-pepper and smoky, savory notes; it is known as Shiraz in Australia. Grenache comes along for the ride as well — a warm-climate red grape giving generous, fruit-forward wines with ripe strawberry and raspberry flavors, gentle tannins and a touch of spice. It comes from Saint-Chinian in the Languedoc, a warm hillside appellation making robust, garrigue-scented reds. It loves rich, meaty food — think grilled red meat, braises and a wedge of aged cheese. Best enjoyed at cool room temperature.
