Here's a lovely dry rosé wine from Italy — Abrami's blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Nero from the 2022 vintage. Chardonnay is the world's most famous white grape, remarkably versatile, ranging from crisp and citrusy when unoaked to rich and buttery with notes of apple, pear and, when oak-aged, vanilla and toast. It's joined by Pinot Nero — the Italian name for Pinot Noir, a delicate, thin-skinned red grape famed for its silky texture and bright red-cherry and raspberry fruit. Franciacorta is Italy's answer to Champagne, earning its fine, lasting bubbles through the same traditional bottle-fermented method.
