Wine made globally, delivered to your door.

VineChain began with a frustration most wine lovers know: the bottle you fell for on a trip - or at that one restaurant - is nowhere to be found once you're home. Small producers make some of the best wine in the world, and almost none of it is easy to buy in the United States.

It started as a homework assignment

In the middle of the pandemic, a class at George Mason University set a simple task: pick a real problem in the world and build something that solves it.

At the time, all of us were stuck inside. No trips, no tastings, no standing in someone's cellar. But a bottle of wine can take you somewhere - it carries a place, a grower, a season, a whole culture - and we realized you could still travel that way. So we started filming digital wine tours: 360° walks through the wineries and in-person interviews with the winemakers, so anyone at home could explore where their wine came from and meet the people who made it. We called it Greek Wine Trips - and if you were with us back then, welcome back.

So the assignment became a website. The website became a store. And Greek Wine Trips became VineChain —-a bigger name for a bigger idea: the person who makes a wine should be able to reach the person who wants to drink it, and the person drinking it should get to travel a little, too.

What we do

Today VineChain carries around 900 wines from small, family-run producers. We started with Greek first and moved to French, Italian, Portuguese labels we're proud to stand behind and we continue adding more. From the volcanic slopes of Santorini to Naoussa, the Loire, Alsace, and the Alentejo, every bottle here was made by a real person with real intent: someone who knows their vines, their village, and their weather.

We bring those wines to doorsteps across the country,  with no scavenger hunt required. If you're not sure where to start, tell us what you like to drink and we'll point you to something worth opening.

Where we're going

Beyond the doorstep. The digital tours were the first step. Now we're taking VineChain to the source with wine tours across Europe with our sister company Eleusis Travel— standing in the vineyards and cellars these bottles come from with the people who make them. 

The chain in VineChain. Finding a hard-to-find wine shouldn't require luck. We're building on blockchain technology to bring producers, importers, distributors, and drinkers under one roof, so the wine you're looking for is findable. It's the reason we're called VineChain. (Patent Pending)
