Poitout Chablis 1er cru fourneaux 2023

Here's a lovely dry white wine from France, made with Chardonnay from the 2023 vintage. A quick word on the grape: Chardonnay is the world's most famous white grape, remarkably versatile, ranging from crisp and citrusy when unoaked to rich and buttery with notes of apple, pear and, when oak-aged, vanilla and toast. It's from Chablis, the cool northern outpost of Burgundy famous for steely, mineral Chardonnay. Bring on the richer plates — roast chicken, creamy sauces, salmon. Serve it well chilled.
