Pierre gaillard Saint-peray white 2022

Here's a lovely dry white wine from France — Pierre Gaillard Saint-Peray's blend of Roussanne and Marsanne from the 2022 vintage. A quick word on the grape: Roussanne is an aromatic Rhône white grape giving textured wines with pear, herbal-tea and honeyed floral notes, often blended with Marsanne. Marsanne comes along for the ride as well — a Rhône white grape producing full-bodied, low-acid wines with notes of melon, almond and honeysuckle. France is the spiritual home of wine, the place that gave us most of the world's classic styles and the whole idea that where a wine grows shapes how it tastes. Great with comfort food: creamy pastas, roast chicken, richer fish. Serve it well chilled.
