Montemaggio brings us this dry red wine from Italy, made with Sangiovese from the 2015 vintage. A quick word on the grape: Sangiovese is Italy's most planted red grape and the backbone of Chianti, giving bright, savory wines with tart cherry, herbs and firm acidity. It comes from Chianti in the heart of Tuscany, the rolling Sangiovese country of cypress trees and stone villages. As a Gran Selezione, it's the very top tier of Chianti Classico, made only from the estate's best fruit. Easygoing at the table: try it with roast meats, pasta, pizza night or a charcuterie board. Serve it at cool room temperature.
