Matamis Charilys spumante brut 20NV
Here's a lovely sparkling white wine from Greece — Matamis Charilys Spumante's blend of Assyrtiko and Malagousia, and it's a non-vintage bottling. New to Assyrtiko? Assyrtiko is Greece's noblest white grape, native to Santorini, producing bone-dry, mineral-driven wines with searing acidity and citrus, saline and stone-fruit character. There's Malagousia in the blend too: a revived Greek white grape giving aromatic, full-flavored wines with peach, citrus and a subtle herbal, floral lift. Greece has been making wine for thousands of years, and its sun-drenched hills and breezy islands grow native grapes you simply won't find anywhere else. Crack it open as a celebration starter — it loves shellfish, salty nibbles and fried bites. Chill it right down before pouring.
