A dry red wine from Oregon, made with Syrah from the 2023 vintage. A quick word on the grape: Syrah is a bold red grape producing dark, full-bodied wines with blackberry, black-pepper and smoky, savory notes; it is known as Shiraz in Australia. Oregon, up in the cool, rainy Pacific Northwest, has made its name with elegant, cool-climate wines — its silky Pinot Noir above all. It loves rich, meaty food — think grilled red meat, braises and a wedge of aged cheese. Pop it open at cool room temperature — a brief chill on a hot day doesn't hurt.
