Kikones Limnio ismaros red 2011

This dry red wine comes from Greece, built around Limnio from the 2011 vintage. A quick word on the grape: Limnio is one of Greece's oldest red grapes, giving aromatic, herb-scented, medium-bodied wines. Greece has been making wine for thousands of years, and its sun-drenched hills and breezy islands grow native grapes you simply won't find anywhere else. It's a friendly all-rounder — lovely with roast chicken, pork, mushroomy dishes or a bowl of tomatoey pasta. Pop it open at cool room temperature — a brief chill on a hot day doesn't hurt.
