Altamira Cabernet franc reserva 2020

This is Altamira's take on Cabernet Franc — a dry red wine out of Argentina from the 2020 vintage. New to Cabernet Franc? Cabernet Franc is an aromatic red grape, a parent of Cabernet Sauvignon, typically lighter in body with red-fruit, herbal and sometimes peppery character. Argentina is South America's wine powerhouse, where most of the vineyards sit high in the dry foothills of the Andes — all that bright sunshine and cool mountain nights give the wines their ripe, juicy generosity. The 'Reserva' on the label usually means it's a step-up selection given a little extra aging before release. Pour it with weeknight pasta, roast chicken or a cheese plate and you're golden. Pop it open at cool room temperature — a brief chill on a hot day doesn't hurt.
