Vignerons tavel Acantalys lirac red 2022

Here's a lovely dry red wine from France, made with Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from the 2022 vintage. A quick word on the grape: Grenache is a warm-climate red grape giving generous, fruit-forward wines with ripe strawberry and raspberry flavors, gentle tannins and a touch of spice. There's Syrah in the blend too: a bold red grape producing dark, full-bodied wines with blackberry, black-pepper and smoky, savory notes; it is known as Shiraz in Australia. France is the spiritual home of wine, the place that gave us most of the world's classic styles and the whole idea that where a wine grows shapes how it tastes. It's a friendly all-rounder — lovely with roast chicken, pork, mushroomy dishes or a bowl of tomatoey pasta. Serve it at cool room temperature.
