Taboadella Villae brings us this dry white wine from Portugal, a blend of Encruzado, Bical and Cerceal Branco from the 2022 vintage. A quick word on the grape: Encruzado is Portugal's finest Dão white grape, giving structured, age-worthy wines with citrus, mineral and a creamy texture. There's Bical in the blend too: a Bairrada white grape giving fresh, aromatic wines with citrus and stone fruit, also used for sparkling. It comes from the Dão, a granite-soiled highland ringed by mountains that shelter the vines. Bring on the richer plates — roast chicken, creamy sauces, salmon. Chill it down and enjoy.
