Pelter Pelter cab/shiraz 2019
Here's a lovely dry red wine from Israel — Pelter Pelter's blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz from the 2019 vintage. Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world's most planted red grapes, prized for its deep color, firm tannins and dark-fruit flavors of blackcurrant and plum, often with notes of cedar and tobacco. There's Shiraz in the blend too: the Australian name for Syrah, typically giving rich, full-bodied reds with ripe blackberry, plum and spicy, peppery character. Israel pairs an ancient winemaking heritage with a lively modern scene turning out polished Mediterranean-climate wines. Pour it with grilled steak, lamb or a slow-cooked stew and it'll feel right at home. Serve it at cool room temperature.
