Say hello to Los Morros's Carmenère — a dry red wine from Chile from the 2022 vintage. Carmenère is a red grape now most associated with Chile, producing soft, medium-bodied wines with ripe dark fruit and a distinctive green-peppercorn, herbal note. Chile is winemaking heaven — a long ribbon of vineyards tucked between the Andes and the Pacific, giving famously clean, fruit-filled, easy-to-love wines. It's a friendly all-rounder — lovely with roast chicken, pork, mushroomy dishes or a bowl of tomatoey pasta. Pop it open at cool room temperature — a brief chill on a hot day doesn't hurt.
