Esporao Esporao reserva red 2022
Esporao Esporao brings us this dry red wine from Portugal, a blend of Aragonez (Tempranillo), Trincadeira, Cabernet Sauvignon and Alicante Bouschet from the 2022 vintage. New to Aragonez (Tempranillo)? Aragonez is a southern-Portuguese name for Tempranillo, giving structured, savory reds with red and dark fruit. It's joined by Trincadeira — a Portuguese red grape prized for its spicy, dark-berry aromatics and is widely grown in the Alentejo and Douro. Portugal is a goldmine of native grapes, from the zippy whites of the green northwest to the muscular reds and legendary Ports of the Douro Valley. The 'Reserva' on the label usually means it's a step-up selection given a little extra aging before release. It's a friendly all-rounder — lovely with roast chicken, pork, mushroomy dishes or a bowl of tomatoey pasta. Serve it at cool room temperature.
