Dalamara Ayehoros xinomavro/merlot 2022

Dalamara Ayehoros brings us this dry red wine from Greece, a blend of Xinomavro and Merlot from the 2022 vintage. New to Xinomavro? Xinomavro is northern Greece's noble red grape, famed in Naoussa for high acidity, firm tannins and savory red-fruit and tomato notes; it is often compared to Italy's Nebbiolo. There's Merlot in the blend too: a widely grown red grape valued for its soft, supple texture and approachable plum and black-cherry fruit, making it one of the most easy-drinking reds. Greece has been making wine for thousands of years, and its sun-drenched hills and breezy islands grow native grapes you simply won't find anywhere else. Pour it with grilled steak, lamb or a slow-cooked stew and it'll feel right at home. Best enjoyed at cool room temperature.
