The Château Reynier Cuvée Héritage Red 2018, situated in the Entre-Deux-Mers region near St Emilion, is managed by oenologist Marc Lurton. The wine is a testament to the harmonious blend of traditional and modern winemaking techniques, offering excellent value as a quality Bordeaux. This particular cuvée is composed equally of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, presenting fresh aromas of ripe red berries. Marc Lurton's premium wine, Château Reynier "Cuvee Heritage," is a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is aged for 18 months in a mix of new wines and American Oak barrels, located in 15th Century limestone caves. This aging process contributes to its full-bodied yet smooth character. In terms of vinification, the Château Reynier Cuvée Héritage undergoes classic Bordeaux methods, including total de-stemming and fermentation at temperatures ranging from 77°F to 86°F. Notably, it contains low sulfites, significantly less than the maximum allowed in Bordeaux. The aging process involves 3 to 4 weeks of maceration and malolactic fermentation, followed by 16 to 18 months of aging in new French oak barrels in limestone caves. The Cuvée Héritage is considered a good gateway Bordeaux, embodying flavors more commonly found in "New World" styles. It showcases hints of vanilla and dill, wrapped around rich notes of black currant, dark cherry, and plum. This medium-bodied wine finishes with a long, spicy flourish.
