Taboadella Villae dao red 2021

Here's a lovely dry red wine from Portugal — Taboadella Villae's blend of Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Jaen (Mencía), Tinta Pinheira and Alfrocheiro from the 2021 vintage. Tinta Roriz is the Portuguese name for Tempranillo, contributing firm structure and dark-fruit depth to Douro reds and Port. It's blended with Jaen (Mencía), too. It comes from the Dão, a granite-soiled highland ringed by mountains that shelter the vines. Pour it with weeknight pasta, roast chicken or a cheese plate and you're golden. Serve it at cool room temperature.
