Ch. toutigeac Bordeaux red 2019
Meet Ch. Toutigeac's dry red wine: a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, all from France from the 2019 vintage. A quick word on the grape: Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world's most planted red grapes, prized for its deep color, firm tannins and dark-fruit flavors of blackcurrant and plum, often with notes of cedar and tobacco. There's Cabernet Franc in the blend too: an aromatic red grape, a parent of Cabernet Sauvignon, typically lighter in body with red-fruit, herbal and sometimes peppery character. It comes from Bordeaux, the historic French region that defined the world's great Cabernet–Merlot blends. It loves rich, meaty food — think grilled red meat, braises and a wedge of aged cheese. Best enjoyed at cool room temperature.
