This Vinho Verde comes from Portugal, built around Trajadura and Alvarinho from the 2023 vintage. New to Trajadura? Trajadura is a Vinho Verde white grape adding body and gentle orchard fruit to fresh, crisp blends. There's Alvarinho in the blend too: a premium Portuguese white grape, the star of Vinho Verde, giving aromatic, crisp wines with peach, citrus and a saline freshness. Vinho Verde is meant to be drunk young and fresh — it's light, low in alcohol and often has a tiny, refreshing prickle of fizz. It comes from the lush, rainy northwest, the green corner of Portugal that gives Vinho Verde its name. Serve it ice-cold with shellfish, grilled fish or a sunny lunch. Best straight from the fridge, nicely chilled.
