La bouissiere Vacqueyras red 2022

Here's a lovely dry red wine from France — La Bouissiere Vacqueyras's blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from the 2022 vintage. Grenache is a warm-climate red grape giving generous, fruit-forward wines with ripe strawberry and raspberry flavors, gentle tannins and a touch of spice. There's Syrah in the blend too: a bold red grape producing dark, full-bodied wines with blackberry, black-pepper and smoky, savory notes; it is known as Shiraz in Australia. France is the spiritual home of wine, the place that gave us most of the world's classic styles and the whole idea that where a wine grows shapes how it tastes. Pour it with weeknight pasta, roast chicken or a cheese plate and you're golden. Pop it open at cool room temperature — a brief chill on a hot day doesn't hurt.
