Kamkoutis Dry red velvedos "jk" 2022

This dry red wine comes from Greece, built around Xinomavro, Cabernet and Merlot from the 2022 vintage. A quick word on the grape: Xinomavro is northern Greece's noble red grape, famed in Naoussa for high acidity, firm tannins and savory red-fruit and tomato notes; it is often compared to Italy's Nebbiolo. There's Cabernet in the blend too: a deeply colored, structured red grape in the Cabernet family, known for dark-fruit flavors and firm tannins. Greece has been making wine for thousands of years, and its sun-drenched hills and breezy islands grow native grapes you simply won't find anywhere else. Pour it with grilled steak, lamb or a slow-cooked stew and it'll feel right at home. Pop it open at cool room temperature — a brief chill on a hot day doesn't hurt.
