Efrosini Philoxenia - hospitality 2018

This dry red wine comes from Greece, built around Kotsifali and Syrah from the 2018 vintage. Kotsifali is a Cretan red grape producing soft, aromatic, fruit-forward wines, often blended with Mandilaria for added color and structure. It's joined by Syrah — a bold red grape producing dark, full-bodied wines with blackberry, black-pepper and smoky, savory notes; it is known as Shiraz in Australia. Greece has been making wine for thousands of years, and its sun-drenched hills and breezy islands grow native grapes you simply won't find anywhere else. Pour it with weeknight pasta, roast chicken or a cheese plate and you're golden. Best enjoyed at cool room temperature.
