Corte adami Amarone riserva 2016
Corte Adami brings us this dry red wine from Italy, a blend of Corvina and Rondinella from the 2016 vintage. Corvina is the main grape of Valpolicella and Amarone, giving bright cherry fruit; for Amarone the grapes are dried before pressing to make a rich, powerful red. There's Rondinella in the blend too: a Veneto red grape that partners Corvina in Valpolicella and Amarone, adding color and a touch of spice. Amarone is one of Italy's most opulent reds — the grapes are dried for months before pressing, concentrating them into a rich, warming, full-bodied wine. It comes from Valpolicella in the Veneto, the home of Amarone. This is the Riserva, given extra aging for even more depth. It loves rich, meaty food — think grilled red meat, braises and a wedge of aged cheese. Serve it at cool room temperature.
