A quick word on the grape: Aragonez is a southern-Portuguese name for Tempranillo, giving structured, savory reds with red and dark fruit. There's Trincadeira in the blend too: a Portuguese red grape prized for its spicy, dark-berry aromatics and is widely grown in the Alentejo and Douro. Portugal is a goldmine of native grapes, from the zippy whites of the green northwest to the muscular reds and legendary Ports of the Douro Valley. The 'Reserva' on the label usually means it's a step-up selection given a little extra aging before release.
